Welcome to our Site!  The Wedding Chapel has been performing same sex commitment ceremonies (and now LEGAL MARRIAGES!)  for gay and lesbian couples in the Des Moines, Iowa area for over 12 years.  In that time we have performed weddings for over 1,000 couples!  Our officiants are interfaith ministers (non-denominational) with whom you can rely on our knowlege and experience! We are honored and happy to now be able to perform same sex legal marriage cermonies!

The Wedding Chapel is designed for the smaller, more intimate wedding, accommodating 2 to 30 guests.  We believe in the K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Sweetie!) method, so we include almost everything you need!  Our wedding packages include the services of an interfaith minister, a large variety of music, florals, ring bearer's pillow, flower girl basket, and unity candle.   All of the work of planning a wedding is removed because we've already done it for you!  All you have to do is to show up!  It is the only one of its kind in Des Moines!   We've done weddings on an hour's notice - as long as you have your license!

Our chapel is beautifully decorated to provide a memorable experience, whether you choose to be formal or informal.  We have several different same sex ceremonies to choose from, and you are welcome to customize them as you wish, such as writing your own vows or adding any special readings. 

We are also available to perform weddings at other locations.  We've gone to people's homes, parks, hotels, halls, restaurants, even to a golf course!

We show The Wedding Chapel by appointment, generally evenings and weekends. We invite you to come and see our beautiful facility!
